As a women’s health expert and mom I feel privileged to spend time with women during the most pivotal times of their lives. I enjoy discussing with patients, family and friends their important health questions and the latest health news. I read a lot to keep up on the latest advances and it dawned on me that it would be nice to share some of my knowledge in a group format with my community.
I decided to start a newsletter to answer important women’s health questions that you want to know about but may not have the time or opportunity to discuss with your physician. I want to empower each of us to optimize our health and well being. In addition, I know we are all constantly being bombarded with health news on TV and the internet and it is hard to understand what is legitimate or important. Often after reading “breaking health news” headlines, I read the fine print only to realize it is not reliable. Since I am constantly going through the medical literature, I thought that I would briefly summarize the interesting women’s and family health stories that are credible and important. That way you don’t have to worry about missing out on important information if you don’t have time to search the health news. My goal is to keep the newsletter easy to read and light in a fun and friendly manner—while providing valuable information and a chance for interaction with your community on the blog.
I know as a physician and mom there is so much to keep up on and not enough time—so I hope this may be a small help to all of you wonderful women out there who work so hard everyday. So far the outpouring from friends and patients who have seen this has been incredible! I look forward to our journey together where we as women share and grow to make the best, happiest and healthiest lives possible!
